Murderer arrested

BIRATNAGAR, July 15 - A twenty-two-year old murderer who had been at large since the murder of Jamil Miya a year back has been arrested, police said.

According to Morang District Police Office, Rashid Miya along with his four friends had murdered Jamil Miya, an Indian citizen who was residing in Biratnagar.


Among other accomplices -- Kelu Miya was arrested just after a few days of murder - others -- Rajak Miya, Hukumuhid Miya and Arvind Miya are still at large.


"Jamil Miya was then murdered by his smuggling-team members because Miya quitted the gang to work with the Indian team," said inspector Hari Krishna Khand.


Meanwhile in Biratnagar, Jogbani border police has arrested Arjun Thapa, who was attempting to smuggle drugs into the country.


According to border police, Thapa was bringing hundred tidejesic syringes and one hundred and fifty packets of nitrojepam tablets from the adjoining Indian market. Thapa was carrying drugs hiding on his legs which was sealed with cellotapes.


"Thapa has accepted that he has been selling drugs to the youths in various parts of Nepal," police said.
