Four die, seven hurt in mishap

LAHAN, July 19 - Four people have died and 7 others were injured in a jeep accident that occurred on the Mahendra highway near Dhangadhi Bazar in the Siraha district on Tuesday afternoon, according to Area Police Office Lahan.

The Sumo Tata Jeep bearing the Indian plate No.AS 02 A 2616 had been out of control and had hit a tree when the driver tried to save a 10-year-old boy Ranjit Singh of Bariyarpatti VDC. Ranjit Singh had also died on the spot.

Among the people who were travelling in the jeep, Abdul Kaiyun, 35 of Sitamdhi, Balara, India, Daya Shankar Saha, 42 of Barahi, India and Mustak Rain, 30 of Sitamadhi, Hanumannagar, India died while they were undergoing treatment in Ramu Uma Memorial Hospital on Tuesday.

Two unidentified people are in critical condition. Others who are injured in the jeep accident are Sara Khatun, Sonu Saha, Jagdev Saha and Kalam Hussein who are undergoing treatment in Lahan Hospital while Ganesh Chaudhari of Dhangadhi has been admitted to B.P.Memorial Hospital at Dharan.
