Gurung maintains fine showing

KATHMANDU, March 21 - Okte Gurung maintained his fine exhibition on the second day at the first Super Bowl AMF Bowling Championship here Tuesday to lead the field with an aggregate of 741 after four games.

Gurung, who was in outstanding form at the bowling ally, recorded the tournament’s highest score of 210 in the very first game, hitting as many as 6 strikes, 6 spares with only one split.

He maintained his average at 185 as he came back to score 193 in the second game, scoring 4 strikes, 6 spares and again a lone split. An average of 210 points is required for international level.

Tsewang Lama, who is second to Gurung in overall standing with the aggregate of 685, scored the six consecutive strikes today to become the first bowler to achieve this feat so far in the tournament.
