Mandal
By a Post Reporter
KATHMANDU, May 22- RCT crushed Boys Union 6-1 here today in the Martyrs
Memorial League A division tournament.
Boys Union started the match on a high note getting the early lead through
Bijaya Maharjan in the very 6th minute. Despite the early setback, RCT kept their nerve
and within ten minutes had got back themselves into the match. It was a well executed
drive from Bal Gopal Maharjan who shot a 25-yard stunner to level the score 1-1.
Three minutes later, Bal Gopal was in thick of action again, this time
producing a well judged pass that saw Milan Shrestha through . All Milan had to do was to
dodge the keeper for the second goal for RCT.
A goal up RCT now were looking more than confident spelling trouble for Boys
Union with every passing minute. In the 21st minute, it was Nirajan Rayamajhi all the way.
He dribbled his way from the centre and dodged past several of Boys Union players to earn
the third goal for his side.
The second half also saw no respite for the Union side who had to face the
music once again from the RCT forward line. In the 53rd minute, Nirajan made no mistake
off a Raj Kumar cross to tap it into the net for his second individual goal and fourth for
the side.
Four minutes later, Raj Kumar produced another swift pass. This time the ball
was tapped by Bal Gopal for his second goal and teams fifth.
RCT finally competed the rout in the 85th minute when Raj Kumar Shrestha made
it 6-1 making no mistake from a pass off Bal Gopal.
Bal Gopal Maharjan, Raj Kumar Shrestha and Nirajan Rayamajhi had a fantastic
match today.
Meanwhile, in the second match of the day, Sankata Boys Sports Club also
earned maximum points from their match against Naxal Yuwa Mandal. Sankata struck twice in
the first and once in the second to dominate the match and win it 3-0.
Narendra Man Singh was in awesome touch with his free kicks today for Sankata
as he scored in the 5th and 50th minute through his well curved shots. However, the Naxal
keepers lack of match practice could have also attributed to the goals as he was
found wanting on both the occasions.
The other goal for Sankata came at the stroke of
half time through Sameer Dangol.
