ANFA interacts with footballers

KATHMANDU, Nov 1 (PR)- An interaction programme between 'A' division football clubs and All Nepal Football Association to develop and promote professional football was held at the association's premises here today.

In the programme, association announced that the 'A' division clubs will not only compete in the championships but also will be included in the association's activities.

According to Geeta Rana, president of the association, future plans for the game would be made in co-ordination with the clubs. She also said that club award will be constituted and awarded to the best performing club for a year.

The programme was attended by the representatives of RCT, NRT, Kathmandu club, Sankata, Three Star, Manang Marsyyangdi, Galaxian, JYC, Boys Sports Club and Naxal Club.


Karatekas leave for India

KATHMANDU, Nov 1 (PR) - Nepali Karate team today left for the international karate championship to be held in Gujarat, India from Nov 2 to 5.

The team consists of Narayan Das Shrestha (45 kg category), Dawa Lama (50 kg), Vishnu Paudel (55 kg), Suvas Gurung (60 kg), Suresh Basnet (65 kg) and Hari Gurung (70 kg) in men's category and Maya Lama in female (45 kg).

Kiran Dangol is team coach for the championship and Gyan Bahadur Shrestha is the official. The team was seen off by head coach of karate Man Bahadur Shrestha. Various other players and officials were present at the occasion.


Invitational boxing from Dec 28

KATHMANDU, Nov 1 (PR)- Nepal Boxing Association will organize invitational boxing championship during Dec 28 to Jan 7 to commemorate the King's birthday, according to a press release of the association.

According to Bishnu Gopal Shrestha, president of the association, only the senior players and players selected from novice championships can participate in the championship. This championship would be the biggest championship to be organised by the association since its reformation. The association also expects international participation in the tourney.

Nepal Boxing Association has already organized some half a dozen tournaments since it was reconstituted last year after the SAF Games. This championship is the most important in terms of the players involved as well as the size of the championship.
