Nepal Handloom Carpet wins Futsal tournament

KATHMANDU, Nov 26 - Nepal Handloom Carpet, spurred by former national
players, won the first five-a-side football tournament defeating British Gorkha 2-1 in a
competitive match played today at the Jawalakhel football ground.
For Nepal Handloom Rabindra Shrestha and Sangeet Rana scored one goal each.
Ajit Rai was the only scorer for the British Gorkha in the match officiated by Binod KC,
assistant referee of FIFA Y B Ghale, Man Bahadur Malla and Bhakta Raj Karnikar had
representated Nepal Handloom Carpet.
Rajendra Gurung of Gorkha Brewery was adjudged best player of the tournament
while Sangeet Rana of Nepal Handloom was named the best player of the final. Goal scored
by Rabindra Joshi of Nepal Handloom was adjudged the best goal of the championship which
was participated by 27 teams from various organizations.
ANFA president Ganesh Thapa and other officials gave away the prizes to the
winners and runners-up teams.
