Mahendra Police wins

KATHMANDU, Oct 16 (PR)- Mahendra Police Club started their campaign in the 32nd All India Governor’s Gold Cup by defeating Darjeeling XI, a press release issued by Sikkim Football Association states. Mahendra Police playing its first tie won the match comprehensively, winning it 5-1.

The win featured a fine hat-trick by Nepal’s ace striker Hari Khadka. This was tournament’s first hat-trick. The other striker to feature in the score books was Ramesh Budhathoki who scored two goals.

The win also propelled Mahendra Police Club into the quarter-finals where they will meet Tollygaunge Agragami on 17th Oct.

Meanwhile, in another match BSF, Jalandhar defeated Gorkha Brigade by seven goals to six on penalties to enter the quarter-final.
