Sankata, United Youth earn full points

LALITPUR, Sept 15- Sankata Boys Sports Club and United Youth registered victories in the matches played today under the Martyrs Memorial League B division football tournament being played here.

Sankata earned a hardfought victory as they defeated Friends Club 3-2 in a well contested match. Friends Club opened the scoring in the 12th minute through Bishal Paudel. But Sankata did well to equalise in the 18th minute and then went 2-1 ahead two minutes later. The goals were scored by Suresh Thapa and Salyan Khadgi.

In the 60th minute, Bikash Nath Shrestha made it 3-1 forn Sankata. Friends Club tried their best to stage a comeback and reduced the deficit in the 78th minute through Sampurna Rana. In the dying minutes Sankata held grimly to earn a respectable victory.

In the other match United Youth, keeping their winning streak intact, notched up another emphatic 3-0 win over Annapurna Club. Kingshey opened the scoring in the 39th minute and Bhakata Rana added two more in the second half to complete the 3-0 victory.
