St
Xavier’s snatch trophy
KATHMANDU, April 20 (PR) - In a very sensational
final match of St. Xavier inter school staff football tournament, golden goal and fifth
hatrick of Om K Shrestha eased Xavier to lift the trophy, today.
Little Angles’ registered its first goal
scored by striker Martin within two minutes of the game and looked favorite before the
equalizer of Om in 16 minutes. In half time Xavier cruised along 2-1 by the result of
Om’s next goal in 25th minutes. After half time LA came back with aggressive vigor
which resulted in Rajendra’s beautiful goal to tally the score 2-2 in full 90 minutes
game. Om, the most successful striker of the tournament offered the cup to his team as he
held off the ball into the opponents’ net by a free kick to win the match in the 7th
minutes of the sudden death time.
Fr. Lawrence Maniyar, SJ, principal of St.
Xavier distributed the trophy, medals and certificates to the winners and the participants
amidst a closing ceremony.
