Daring lady ?

It was really astonishing to watch a classic photograph of a bold and dashing Nepalese woman in action on the streets of the capital (TKP photo, April 21, 2001). But if I am not mistaken Nepalese women are considered to be an epitome of peace, tolerance and patience. But that photo sent a different message of the other side of Nepalese women. Whatever the cause of their demonstrations, female CPN-UML workers are encouraging violence in society.

Moreover, doesn’t that lady have any respect for her elders? How could her conscience allow her to kick an old man’s bicycle, who belongs to the working class? This is undoubtedly a deplorable act, that cannot be allowed to go with impunity. And what about other spectators on the scene who were grinning and laughing? Is this the changing face of Kathmandu?
