Dubious design

I read about the recent detention of a Pakistani diplomat and his wife, for being involved in the RDX episode. But after reading a front page commentary " Spy vs Spy" in your newspaper and subsequently a letter to the editor of 21 April 2001, the bogey of ISI surfaced up. I agree with the letter entitled "Why only ISI?". Does this indicate a similar bogey like that of CIA, which was previously used by India in Sikkim before its annexation or some new game plan to create another Bhutan? Being a student of International Relations, I can smell some sinister designs of our southern neighbour. Mr KV Rajan, ex -ambassador of India to Nepal, visited Kathmandu in March and according to some newspapers, he presented thirteen- point agenda to the government. These points included Indian control over Nepal’s foreign, security, economic and defence policies. In return, India promised to assist in solving Maoist problem and bailing out the present government from the current political turmoil. Is the arrest of a Pakistani diplomat and his wife ( in violation of international convention), one of the steps toward taking ultimate control of Nepal security apparatus? Maybe, it is a message to China that Nepal is India’s backyard and China should not get actively engaged in Nepal. India surely cannot confront China directly however by raising ISI bogey; they want to pressurize Nepal in compromising its independence and sovereignty. Finally, I request all patriotic Nepalese not to allow India to succeed in its dubious design.
