Winning the toss, Kapilbastu skipper Basanta Shahi elected to bat first resulting in a solid start for the first wickets partnership of 64 runs between Sanju Thapa, 21 and Basanta Regmi, 71. Bara’s skipper Pawan himself claimed the first wicket when he decided to take charge of settled batsman. After loosing the first wicket, Kapilbastu didn’t shacked at all and pulled the scoreboard 104, losing the wicket of Binaya Tripathi who added 20 runs off just 22 balls which includes two boundaries. Almost all the tail enders played an easy game because of the long innings of their team-mate Basanta Regmi. Regmi faced most of the dangerous spells of all the bowlers of Bara, which helped Kapilbastu to set the target of 207 including 31 extras in 49 overs.

On the other hand, Bara lacked bowling consistency as Regmi made the mess of their attacks. However, Pawan 09-00-39-02, Rupesh Uprety 10-00-45-03 and Binod Das 10-00-28-02 managed with good figures.

Chasing a descent target of more than 4 runs per over of 207 runs, Bara suffered with the loss of wickets in regular intervals and managed just 95 runs in 32.5 overs. Jeetendra Yadav and Binod Das tried to lead their team home but failed before being set at the pitch on 20 and 19 respectively. Basanta Shahi damaged aspiring Bara’s hope to enter into the final by getting rid of 4 wickets in his full quota of bowling conceding only 2.40 runs per over, plus one run out. Shahi showed his excellence when he cleanly bowled Nepal National Team captain who might be the obstacle in their victory. Mohan Thapa also rewarded with three wickets in his short spell of 5 overs conceding just 23 runs. Man of the Match Basanta Regmi also claimed one wicket.

Meanwhile, the result of abandoned match went in favor of Morang as Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) decided Morang and Parsa to play for second semi final tomorrow, according to a press released issued today.
