Hiroshima-Nagasaki Day observed

KATHMANDU, Aug 9 - In commemoration of the 56th Hiroshima - Nagasaki Day, Afro-Asian Peoples’ Solidarity Organization of Nepal (AAPSO-Nepal) organised a symposium on Consequences of Nuclear Explosion with a concept of nuclear weapons-free world.

Addressing the function Prime Minister, Sher Bahadur Deuba says, "If the money wasted in making nuclear weapons are utilised for development programmes like poverty eradication and education, it will be helpful."

He said the nuclear destruction in Japan should not be forgotten and repeated.

"To abolish these kinds of nuclear weapons, discriminations should be stopped", says Taranath Rana Bhat, Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Dr Kamal K. Shrestha presented the report on Consequences of Nuclear Explosion: Concept of Nuclear Weapons Free World.
