KATHMANDU, Aug 11 (PR)- Pritam Ale of Holyland School scored in the 76th minute as Holyland defeated Nightingale School 2-1 to enter the second round in the Inter-school ANFA Youth Football Championship organised by Ganesh Thapa led All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) on Saturday.

Holyland boys checked the opponent strikers throughout the match after an early lead of 1-0 in the 9th minute of play. Giridhoj Rokka buried the goal in the opponent net when the ball was crossed to him from right.

Nightingale players, trying hard to level, finally dented the Holyland defence in the 66th minute as Ramesh Maharjan converted a 25-yard pass from Raju Tamang into goal to make the score 1-1.

Nightingale’s cheers were short lived as Pretam Ale rose to the occasion scoring the decider in the 76th min. Ale, taking the ball from his half of the field, dribbled the ball to the opposition and placed the ball in the post leaving the goalie Bire Lama a spectator.

Nightingale dominated the major part of the game though they lost the game later. Chandra Prakash Rai, the skipper as well as goalkeeper of the Holyland should be praised for the way he handled the team as well as saved some thrilling shots from the rivals.
