Campus chief arrested on corruption charge

KAWASOTI (Nawalparasi), Aug 12 - District Police Office Parasi has arrested Chief of Kumarbarti Commerce Campus in Kawasoti, Shailendra Kumar Mishra, on the charge of corruption.

Campus chief Mishra has admitted the charge and deposited Rs 130,000 with the Ilaka Adminisration Office.

The campus was established with the financial assistance collected from local guardians and donors. Mishra was authorised to sell registration forms necessary for land registration in an attempt to raise money for the campus. But he had sold 2,944 forms in excess and had misappropriated the additional income which amounted to Rs 144,200, it was found after the account was checked.

Guardians had requested the district administration to look into the campus account and take necessary action against the campus chief as he did not make the campus account public when requested by the local guardians.
