16 injured in road accident

CHAUTARA, Aug 13 - At least 16 people, four of them seriously, were injured when a passenger bus en route to Kathmandu from Bahrabise collided head-on with a loaded van en route to Tatopani at Bhaise of the Kadambas VDC on the Araniko Highway VDC Monday, police here said.

The Bahrabise-based area police station said that drivers of the van (Na 2 Kha 4765) and the bus and two other passengers sustained serious injuries in the road accident.

Police said that the seriously injured passengers have been rushed to Kathmandu while 12 others are undergoing treatment at a local health post.

Police Inspector Balkrishna Thapa said that they were investigating the cause of the accident.
