Gyan Niketan in quarters

Post Report

KATHMANDU, Aug 27 - The host Gyan Niketan School advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2nd Gyan Niketan running shield inter-school basketball tournament after they posted an easy win against Princeton School by 39 - 7 on Monday.

The host school, aided by crowd support, dominated the entire match. The Gyan team proved to be good not only in their attacks but also showed strength in defence as Princeton boys failed to score more than seven points during the entire course of the match. Raju Gurung of the host school was the top scorer netting 15 points.

Wining in all three outings, Gyan Niketan are the favourites to top Group ‘A’. They are, however, still to play one league match before the knock-out round.

South Point School will take on New Millennium School on Tuesday.
