Chivas Regal wins elephant polo

KATHMANDU (PR) - Chivas Regal of Scotland clinched the 20th World Elephant Polo Championship title following their sensational 5-4 win over America’s Tigresses team on Friday, the World Elephant Polo Association (WEPA) informed in its press release on Monday.

The Chivas Regal team, marshaled by Captain Peter Prentice, came from behind as Tigresses ladies got into the lead after just 30 seconds into the match. Although 1-0 down within the first minute, Regal team bounced back to clinch their first ever title. The local team led by Ram Pritt Yadav managed third place beating Ham Polo Club of England.

The Championship, organised by Tiger Tops Group, was held at the Meghauli Airport near the Royal Chitwan National Park.
