What a pity !

Iam an artist from Germany coming to this country for many a time. I like to sketch the people and the cows and bulls in the street. My favourite was the big old bull - kalo thulo sande - moving his big bulk slowly and hesitantly along or lying in the street taking up the space of three motorbikes. Well, and that was his undoing. A week ago, I walked past Hanuman Dhoka. There was a huge truck and a crowd of people around it. I pushed through the crowd, and I saw the big bull lying all trussed up on the ground. Several men were trying to lift him onto the truck. I was told that he would be taken "somewhere", because he was obstructing the ever-increasing traffic. What a pity, tourists will miss him as he was an asset to the Kathmandu scenery.

I for my part would have preferred to walk around he bull instead of dodging the aggressive motorbike riders that make walking in the street a life-threatening hazard.
