Awaiting result

The message opined by Dr DNS Dhakal (7 Dec, TKP) must reach the ears of all concerned heads. As far as I, a decade-long victim of eviction from the Dragon Kingdom, am concerned with Dhakal’s view and with the fictitious approach of Bhutan towards this issue, Nepal must wash her hands and hand over this peevish issue to Bhutan, UNHCR, and refugee community or internationalise it without delay.

Now, Bhutan has completed its first verification process. Bhutan knows whether we are bonafide citizens of Bhutan. About 12,692 have answered so called Bhutan made questions and have produced ample documents to prove that we are bonafide Bhutanese. These 12,692 Bhutanese are waiting for their result which will be a turning point in their life.

The world’s concern was just to verify us -- Bhutanese from non-Bhutanese and that work has been over. We (refugees) will not allow any non-Bhutanese to enter Bhutan. And we will not let any true Bhutanese to be left behind at any cost.

Our demand is only the verification and we have no particular terms and norms with the so-called categorisation. Let JMLT or JMT categorise us even into 100 groups which may amuse Bhutan and may help its acumen to quench their inner thirst. But, other than non-Bhutanese, we all are bonafide Bhutanese citizens, victims of the common cause.

Now I have got some more things to applaud and request Nepal that, for how long this poor country can bear this created burden. Nepal has done what ought to have beem done. During this 11th SAARC Summit, Nepal must take a prompt position to term Nepal "Refugee Free Zone".
