U-19 cricket squad for World

KATHMANDU, Dec 24 The Cricket Association of Nepal
(CAN) Monday named 14 cricketers for Nepals participation in the upcoming Under-19
World Cup cricket tournament starting in New Zealand from January next year.
The players were selected by the committee formed by National
Sports Council (NSC) under the chairmanship of CAN member Tarakmani Dixit. All the
selected players were the members of the Nepali team that won the U-19 Youth Asia Cup
cricket tournament held in Kathmandu last October, thus qualifying for the U-19 World Cup
cricket tournament.
The 14-member Nepali squad include: Binod Kumar Das
(captain), Bardan Chalise (vice-captain), Lakpa Lama, Manoj Katuwal, Shakti Gauchan,
Basanta Regmi, Basudev Thapa, Pramod Basnet, Kaniska Chaugain, Sanjam Regmi, Prem
Chaudhary, Rohit Sharma, Yaswant Subedi and Manjit Shrestha.
Meanwhile, four others: Munik Kumar Shrestha, Dipesh Khatri,
Narendra Bohara, Prakash Sharma have been selected as alternative players. |
