No Water

There is no water at Basukinagar. We used to get water in our taps every other day. But since the past month or more that too has become erratic. We have to make do with poor quality water from tube wells and other sources. The water is hardly fit to drink.

This is a chronic problem that has dogged us around the year. Frequent appeals to the authorities have produced no result.

If this is the situation now, our worry is how much worse things might become when the dry season is really upon us. The water supply in other localities is by contrast good and steady, or so we hear.

We fervently hope the authorities will do something about this soon so that we will not have to wait for Melamchi
