Yeti Airlines enter final

Post Report

BIRGUNJ, Feb 5 - Yeti Airlines entered the final of Adarsha Super Running knock-out cricket tournament defeating Pashupati Adarsha Club of Birgunj by a huge margin of 159 runs in the first semi-final played today.

Yeti Airlines scored 252 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in a 45-over match, after winning the toss and deciding to bat first. The architect of the Yeti innings was Monir Shrestha playing an exceptional innings of 88 runs, the highest for his team.

Raju Khadka was not far behind in the strokeplay as he scored a quickfire 73 runs coming off just 30 balls, hitting seven sixes in the process. The other notable contributions came from Sandeep Shrestha and Prafulla Vaidya chipping in with 23 and 20 respectively.

Pashupati bowlers could not do much to restrict the Yeti batsmen. Rajiv Shrestha was the only bowler who showed some authority with the ball taking two wickets for 37 runs from his 8 overs.

Chasing a mammoth 253 runs to win, Pashupati batsmen fumbled and were shut down for a paltry 93 runs. Only three of their batsmen could reach double figures against the strong bowling attack of Yeti Airlines.

Raju Basnet was the most successful bowler taking six wickets for 13 runs in 8.4 overs. Monir Shrestha added two wickets to his half century scored earlier.

Raju Khadka was chosen as the man of the match for his explosive knock.
