1st Surya Nepal Snooker Challenge announced

KATHMANDU, Feb 22 - Surya Tobacco Company (STC) announced to organize First Surya Nepal Snooker Challenge 2001 starting March 1 this year, in a press conference held here today.

The tournament is jointly organised by Cosmos Solarium and has the technical support of the Billiard, Snooker and Pool Association of Nepal.

The tournament is expected to be participated by more than 1000 participants, according to the organisers. The preliminary rounds of the tournament will be played in 16 various snooker parlours of the Kathmandu with final being held at Cosmos Solarium.

The winner of the tournament will win the cash prize of Rs 51,000 and a trophy. An exclusive Surya snooker cue stick will also be awarded to the winner. The first runner-up will get Rs 31,000 as prize money in addition to a trophy and a cue stick.

In addition to the prizes to the winners and runners-up, the highest breaker will be awarded Rs 11,000. The winners of the preliminary rounds of the game will be awarded Rs 3000 each.
