Royal entourage includes business delegation

KATHMANDU, Feb 26 - A 15-member team of businessmen led by Pradeep Kumar Shrestha, President of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has also been included in the Royal entourage to the Republic of China.

Their Majesties the King and Queen left for Haikou, the Republic of China on a state visit at the invitation of Chinese premier Ziang Zemin Monday, reads an FNCCI press release issued by the Federation here today.

The business delegation, apart from the scheduled program of the royal entourage, would meet officials of the government and the private sector business enterprises and hold talks on expanding the mutual economic relations, investment promotion, joint ventures and making inspection visit of industrial and commercial enterprises.

According to the release, the delegation would make an inspection visit of Haikou Industrial Estate on February 27 and 28 and interact with the local entrepreneurs.

Similarly on March 1, the delegation would meet the chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Beijing Sub-Council in Beijing and take part in a seminar on Nepal-China Business, to be organized at the Council’s head office there.

Likewise, the team of businessmen on March 2 would see the officials of All China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC) and hold talks on expanding bilateral trade and participate in yet another seminar on Nepal-China Business to be organized on March 3 in Shanghai, states the release.

Members of the delegation include former FNCCI president Padma Jyoti, President of FNCCI Employers’ Council and ex officio Vice President Rajendra Kumar Khetan, President of Commodity Association Coordination Council Rohini Thapaliya, President of Nepal chamber of Commerce (NCC) Rajesh Kaji Shrestha, Chandi Raj Dhakal, Rabindra Shrestha, Ajad Shrestha, Manoj Bahadur Shrestha, Lok Manya Golchha, Pradeep Raj Pandey, Bhola Bikram Thapa, Govinda Das Shrestha, Sangita Shrestha and Sitaram Adhikari.

The team will return home on March 4, adds the release.
