Post Report BHADRAPUR, Jan 2 - Bhanudev Yuva Parivar edged out New Jagriti Club by 4 wickets to enter the final of the New Jagriti Cup cricket tournament. Batting first after winning the toss, New Jagriti scored a paltry 75 runs losing all the wickets in 24.5 overs. The score was mainly possible due to extras which accounted for 31 runs out of the total 75. None of the batsmen could reach double figure. Subin Khadka took three wickets for the Bhanudev team while ajan Khanal and Niraj Meche took two each. Bhanudev, not chasing a difficult target, didnt start too well losing five wickets in the first 15 overs. However, the seventh wictet partnership between Pravir Ghosh and Parvat Pokhrel ensured the victory of the Bhanudev team. The highest scorer of the innings was Pravir Ghosh at 16 unbeaten runs. Bishwaraj Pokhrel was the main wicket taker for the New Jagriti Club. Birthday Cup boxing from today KATHMANDU, Jan 2 (PR) - The Birthday Cup boxing championship organised to commemorate the Kings birthday will start from Wednesday, according to a press statement issued by Nepal Sports Council. The championship which was slated to start from Jan 1 is being rescheduled due to Nepal bandhs on Jan 1 and 2. A total of 103 participants from Tribhuvan Club and 12 districts will compete in 13 different weight categories. A total of 93 bouts will be played. |
