The ugly Indian

Iread with interest M R Josse’s article "Riddle in a mystery inside an enigma" in the January 10’s issue of TKP. On reading K R Malkani’s ludicrous remarks published in India Today about two weeks ago, I was angry and truly disappointed with the quality of Indian leadership. Now reading what Malkani told Reuters: "I stand by what I said. But if I have inadvertently hurt any friends in Nepal, then I am extremely sorry. At this stage, the chapter is closed", confirms me that he symbolizes the ugly Indian hate by Nepalese including other India’s immediate neighbours. Given the quality of Indian media which prides in kowtowing the official line and not reporting truthfully, Indian public may be ignorant of this fact.

I have come across several professionals and academics from South Asian countries and they all talk about the same thing. Again I have met several decent Indians. Possibly, they are people like Malkani who have given rise to the popular saying among the Thais "If you come across an Indian and a snake, kill the Indian first". To me too, this appears to be true.
