Chabahil winPost Report KATHMANDU, Jan 17- Ritesh Baral scored 50 as Sajjan Memorial Youth Club, Chabahil crushed Triveni Youth Club, Ghattekulo by 76 runs Wednesday in the league cum knock-out cricket tournament organized by Everest College Cricket Academy here at Tundikhel ground to mark the 56th Birthday of His Majesty King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev. Ritesh Baral was the highest scorer with 50 runs off 47 balls. No other batsman could reach a double digit figure as three batsmen were ousted in ducks as Sajjan Memorial scored 116 runs losing all its wickets in 23 overs. In reply, Triveni were all out for 40 runs in 15.5 overs. Maheshwor Shrestha of Sajjan Memorial took 6 wickets in 3.5 overs conceding 9 runs. Gaurav Pokhrel took 4 wickets conceding 16 runs in 8 overs. Upendra Bhattarai, member of Cricket Association of Nepal, CAN, gave away Maheshwor Shrestha the man of the match trophy and certificates. Everest College Cricket Academy will meet Jorpati Cricket Club Thursday at Tundikhel ground in the next match. Post Report KATHMANDU, Jan 17- Nepal Billiard Snooker and Pool Association today organized the Open Snooker championship to mark the 56th Birthday of His Majesty King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev here at Exclusive Snooker club, Sundhara. A total of 120 participants are expected to take part in the event which will conclude on December 25. Binod Shankar Palikhe, Member Secretary of National Sports Council (NSC) inaugurated the championship. In the inaugural match today, Dipak Shakya beat Birat Shrestha 3-1 while Pratap Pranang beat Pemba 3-1. Pemba displayed a beautiful performance in the second frame obtaining 31 points but was defeated by Pratap in a total score. Similarly, Keshar Malla beat Amod of Biratnagar by 3-2 frame. Despite winning two straight frames, Amod lost next 3 frames. Bijaya Dangol beat Pratap Malla 3-2, Chakra Lama beat Rakesh Tandukar 3-1, Mohan Rai beat Palsang Gurung 3-0, Biswa Raj Gyawali beat Krishna Ghale 3-1, Sanjaya Mulmi beat Kaji 3-0 while Dinesh gave walkover to Kumar in the matches organized on Wednesday. |
