Singh retains RNGC presidency

KATHMANDU, June 30 - Sidheshwor Kumar Singh was relected as
the president of the Royal Nepal Golf Club (RNGC) by unanimous vote of the clubs
general assembly, according to an RNGC press release issued on Saturday.
Shedding on clubs activities, captain Madhukar
Yakthumba, said that RNGC held a total of 21 golf tournaments in the last golfing
calendar. He also informed that the club was carrying out various golf development
programmes: extention of a 18-hole golf course, introduction of golf lesson to 30 students
of five schools.
On the occasion, clubs tresurer Bijaya Bahadur Shrestha
presented the audited report of the clubs income statement for the year 2000-2001 as
well as the estimated budget for the year 2001-2002.
Earlier, the general assembly expressed condolence over the
untimely demise of to the late King Birendra, late Queen Aishwarya and the late Crown
Prince Dipendra and other deceased members of the Royal family. The Club members
highlighted the contribution of the late Crown Prince towards the upliftment of golf in
Nepal. The late Crown Prince was also the patron of the Royal Golf.
