9th SAF Games selection tourney
KATHMANDU (PR) - The final selection of players for the
forthcoming 9th South Asian Federation (SAF) Games will be carried out by individual
associations from Wednesday.
According to the National Sports Council (NSC), the
selection of athletics events begin from July 25 while weightlifting, wrestling, shooting,
boxing and table-tennis, kabaddi, karate events will start on July 28. A total of 44
athletes will compete in athletics while weightlifting and wrestling each will feature 16
players competing for eight weight categories.
Likewise, shooting will feature 24 competitors in men’s
and women’s events; 20 players in boxing; 24 in the taekwondo men’s events; 30
in the karate men’s events; 20 in the men’s and women’s singles in
table-tennis and badminton; 20 in the men’s and women’s singles in badminton; 21
in the men’s kabaddi; 20 in men’s volleyball. |
