Koiralas loyalty
This refers to your news story entitled "India built
barrage could submerge Lumbini" published on July 26, TKP. I do not think that Girija
Prasad Koirala was not unaware of this fact during his prime ministership. But he
maintained silence until yesterday. And he will not raise this issue against India.
Because he must have been the first man to say "yes" to the Indian authority
before India decided to build the dam across the Nadav river. India has never cared for
Nepal whatsoever it claims. Indians may say they have recruited poor Gurkhas, provided
financial assistance, helped in economic prosperity and what not. I have come across such
Indians many a time both in Nepal and India. Some letters were published even by your
newspaper sometime ago. But at what cost does India help Nepal? India does so because it
can use Nepali territory against China and build dams violating international law.
India can dump cheap goods in Nepal and say that
Nepal exports Chinese goods to India, thus the Kodak plant should be closed down. What
Nepali politicians, who sell their dignity to India for a rupee have been doing, is
disgusting in this country. I don't think any Nepali politician has raised this issue.
This is the irony we Nepalis have. Once, Bisheshwar Prasad Koirala said that Matrika
Prasad Koirala sold Koshi to India. Next, when he became the Prime Minister of Nepal, he
himself sold Gandaki to India. Now, his brother former Prime Minister Girija Prasad
Koirala does the same thing. How long these Koiralas and some cheap political leaders will
serve the interest of Biharis?
