KCM mourns Prince Nirajan's untimely death

KATHMANDU, June 8 - The Kathmandu College of Management (KCM) today held here a memorial service to mourn the sudden demise of Late Prince Nirajan, who was also a final year student at the college.

KCM committee members, students and well-wishers of the college attended the function, which was started by observing a two-minute silence to pay tribute to the Late Prince and His Family. According to friends of the Late Prince, Late Prince Nirajan had just finished his last internal "Managerial Finance paper" at KCM and was happy that he would soon be a graduate, that fateful day.

Speaking on the occasion, KCM committee board member Shankar Sharma expressed deep shock over the unexpected demise of the Late Prince. "We ask God to give us the strength to bear his loss," he said.

Suresh Raj Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Kathmandu University said: "We are still yet to make terms with ourselves in believing that this horrific tragedy has occurred and in finding the strength to bear this huge loss although it is very difficult ".

Similarly, Vikrant Gurung, a close associate of the Late Prince, talked about his internship program and project with the Late Prince Nirajan on King Mahendra Trust for Nature Conservation. " It was on devising a plan to save fresh water dolphins going extinct in the Karnali river to which the Late Prince was very keen on conserving." he added.

Siddhartha Sharma, one of Prince Nirajan’s best friends said in tears: "We are proud of him as to how he faced life and would always remember him dearly."

"He always made it a point to make one’s difficulties simple," he further said.

One of the college teachers, Yubaraj Khatiwada described the Late Prince as a "well disciplined and attentive" student. He also said that he was very optimistic that the Prince would have contributed immensely to the betterment of the country.

According to Bishnu Raj Adhikari, principal at KCM, the late Prince was keen in contributing to the tourism sector. "This was the main reason why he (the Late Prince) had taken up business management as his line of profession," he said,

KCM authorities said that the College Board will now name the college as Prince Nirajan College, with the consent of the Palace.
