Maoist impostors terrorise local people in Sindhuli

Post Report

SINDHULI, June 12 - Two unidentified men are terrorising the locals in Ranibas VDC, bordering Kamalamai municipality, over the past few days by looting them.

The two men, who wear masks and wield pistols, claim themselves as Maoists. They loot the household goods, ask for donations and misbehave with the females, according to villagers.

On Friday night, they entered the house of Deu Bahadur Pulami, resident of Ranibas VDC-9. Threatening the Pulami family members with their pistols, they asked them to cook food and chicken. When they finished eating, they went away carrying a khukuri, a torch and also dragged his daughter-in-law out of the house but she managed to escape and return home after some time, Pulami said.

The next day they entered the house of local Ganesh Bahadur Thakuri and ransacked the whole house including their boxes. When they did not find anything of their liking, they took away a packet of cigarette and some bananas, Thakuri said.

The same day, they compelled the family of Chet Bahadur Majhi to cook food for them and after having the food, they also asked for donations, villagers said.

It is reported that the two men are also entering the houses of different people in the name of Maoists, asking for donations and using abusive words against the daughters and daughter-in-laws of the family.
