Understand us
Everyone came to know about the royal carnage that took place
inside the Narayanhiti palace through Indian electronic media. The were comments,
discussions and even accusations after every hour which lasted almost two weeks. The
participants across the table were high level Indian officials. I, as a layman, felt that
these officials are the ones who sow hatred between the two countries -- Nepal and India.
Indians had no right to point their finger at who killed the royal members and what was
the reason behind the tragedy before the report was made public. Prior to Rajiv
Shahis press conference, Indians had already started speculating how, where and when
the incident took place and who killed the royal family members. That too at a time when
the entire country was mourning the unexpected tragedy. Nepalese always show a deep
respect towards India but Indians do not understand them. They simply make comments
without having any knowledge, point out what is unnecessary and create misunderstanding
without any reason. There was no point to make a guess and twist the story of Nepali royal
carnage.
Unless India understands our sentiments and avoids propaganda
through electronic and print media on Nepal, things will not improve. Nepalese are simple,
faithful and hard working people. They work for their daily bread- be it in India or
Nepal. We do not have business community nor do we want to exploit others.
We definitely want to see India growing a superpower but not
at our economic development. Sowing seeds of hatred through electronic media will not help
us. When the Star News began speculating what happened inside the palace the night the
carnage took place in the following day was intolerable.
Please, share the information based on truth. I think Indians
still lag behind us in so many aspects.
