KATHMANDU, March 3 (PR) - Yogeshwor Amatya, Niraj Thakuri, Nitesh Aggrawal and Suraj Mulmi had victories in the preliminary round matches of the First Surya Nepal Snooker Challenge held at Cosmos Solarium, Tripureshwor today. In the various matches held at Everest Snooker, Thamel, Amod Shah, Ganga Thapa, basu Banjara and Ahamed Ali defeated their opponents. Tshering G Sherpa and Micheal Tshering entered the next round of the tournament winning their matches held at Dragon Snooker, Maharajgunj. Awaj Shrestha, Manoj Lama, Buddha Lama, Sanjiv Lama, Chakra Lama, Sonam Lama, Dharma Gurung, Rajan Lama, Ale Lama, Pasang Lama, Moktan Kaji, Ang Temba Sherpa, Chhemi, Raju Lama, Amod Karki, Chhente Pujari, Niran Nepali, Ram Krishna Shrestha, Rajan Shakya, Wangchen Lama, Akhin Gurung, Shankar Thapa, Sonam, Babu, Shyam, Bisnu, Angkami Lama, Ganga Thapa, Shankar Thapa, Anil Gurung, Sonam Gurung, Chhakra Lama and Rajan Lama also came out as winners in their matches held at various snooker parlors today. Post Report KATHMANDU, March 3 - Mechi team and Jawalakhel Youth Club team emerged victorious in the semi-finals of the Madan Ashrit Memorial Cup volleyball tournament being held at the Volleyball Training Centre, Jawalakhel today. In the match between Mechi team and Dhaulagiri team, Mechi defeated their opponents by 25-17, 25-19 and 25-13 in the first semis and Jawalakhel Youth defeated Tanahu 25-18, 25-19 and 25-21. Likewise, Tanahu defeated Karnali team 25-8, 25-15 in the first quarter-finals earlier today. Mechi team won the match by scoring 25-19, 25-22 against Kaski in the other match and Dhaulagiri team won the match against DNYFN. In the girls event, Kuleshor Club defeated Tanahu team 25-7, 25-8 in the match for third place earlier today. Tomorrows match will be played between Dhaulagiri team and Tanahu team for third position at 9:00 am. the girls final will be played between Laxmi Wood Craft Industry and Jawalakhel Youth Club at 1:00 am. The mens final will be played between Jawalakhel youth Club and Mech team at 3:00 p.m. at the Volleyball Training Centre, Jawalakhel. The tournament was organized by the Democratic National Youth Federation Nepal to mark the Martyrs day. |
