Political protection to criminals flayed

Post Report

HETAUDA, Mar 9 - Justice at the Appellate Court in Hetauda, Hari Bahadur Basnet, said that crimes are on the rise in society due to political protection to criminals.

Addressing the closing function of "crimes against women and children" today, jointly organised by the British Embassy and Police Headquarters, Justice Basnet rapped the then government for giving political protection and withdrawing the complaints lodged against Simala Tamang, a notorious woman trafficker.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Basudev Oli, complained that local people and workers of the ruling party extended no supports to the police administration.

The concluding function was addressed by Makawanpur District Development Committee Rameshor Rana, Chief District Officer Durga Prasad Pokharel and Mayor of the Hetauda Municipality Dormani Poudel. The 6-day training programme was attended by 20 people from various walks of life.
