KATHMANDU, March 23 - Jay Trophy knock-out cricket tournament, the premier cricket tournament of the country, will get underway in Birgunj from 27th of this month, according to a press statement issued here by Cricket Assocition of Nepal (CAN).

A total of 13 teams will be participating in this year’s championship, which is being co-organised by Parsa District Cricket Association. Out of the total of 13 teams, 12 teams are district teams. This year, a team from Tribhuvan University will also be in the fray. The top four teams from the championship will qualify to participate in the league phase which will be held in Kathmandu, early April.

The teams participating in the tourney are: Jhapa, Surkhet, Sarlahi, Kanchanpur, Baitadi, Dhanusha, Kailali, Siraha, Rautahat, TU, Dang, Palpa and Lalitpur.
