Not all dirty

The article on Tango dance (Sunday Post, March 25, 2001) was an eye opener for me. The Kathmandu Post has every space for all "dirty" culture of the west but it seldom becomes liberal to something exemplary from those countries. Is it that there are only seductive things like Tango in the west? Argentina is famous for many other things like aboriginal people, their culture, World Heritage Sites, attempt to reduce pollution, classical music, and fight against drugs etc. But The Kathmandu Post chose only the thing which can never be something even the Argentines of good family love to talk about.

Does the writer think that the sensible readers of Kathmandu will be happy to read about this form of dance which has left its original aroma and now only the rotten smell is left? I can’t say anything about the writer; it reflects her level of intellectuality or vision.

Why, Sunday Post can spare some space for some good aspect of the rich culture of the Kathmandu Valley, like music, dance or other beautiful scenery like Kakani or Dhulikhel if they can’t find anything better from Argentina? Let people read about something which will take the readers to some heights than to a gutter like the Bagmati.
