Vice-Chancellor Cup cricket

KATHMANDU, May 9 - The one and only inter-college level cricket championship played in Nepal, the 2nd Vice Chancellor Running Shield cricket tournament will begin from 13 May, as announced in the press conference held by the Free Students Union, Tribhuvan University Kirtipur, today.

The matches will be played in Limited Overs format with a team getting as many as 40 overs to bat in an innings. The championship, to be contested by 16 teams from different colleges, will be of knock-out nature.

The teams have been grouped into two pools of eight teams each. The best team from both of the pools will play for the title in the final match which will be played on 28th of the month. Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has agreed to provide the technical support in the tourney. All the matches in the tournament will be played in the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground.

The teams participating are:

Campion College, Tri-Chandra Campus, Nepal Engineering College, Pulchowk Campus (Engineering), Patan Multiple Campus, National College for Business Studies, Acme Engineering College, Shanker Dev Campus, TU Kirtipur, Nepal Law Campus, Saraswati Campus, Nepal College of Travel and Tourism Management, Nepal Commerce Campus, Kantipur City College, Bishwa Bhasha Campus, Maharajgunj Campus (Medicine).
