Kathmandu shine in badminton

KATHMANDU (PR) - Ramji Bahadur Shrestha of Kathmandu won the men’s singles badminton crown in the Central Regional Games concluded here today.

In the matches played in the covered hall of Dashrath stadium complex, Shrestha defeated Paras Bahadur Singh (Kathmandu) while Manjesh Bam Malla of Kathmandu and Yashwant Shahu of Dhanusha finished joint third. In the doubles (men’s) it was the pair of Paras B Singh and Ramji Shrestha that won the title defeating Sunil Baskota and Yashwant Shahu of Dhanusha.

Rajani Shrestha of Kathmandu topped the ladies singles followed by Kalpana Rana of Lalitpur. In the ladies doubles, the pair of Kalpana Rana and Bina Tulachan of Lalitpur won the gold, beating Rajeshwori Shrestha and Manta Guchhu.
