Encouraging piece

Your news report entitled "Local efforts turn village into lovely hamlet" (TKP page 2, May 17, 2001) about the village development campaign initiated by the local youths was indeed a very encouraging piece of news to read. The youths with the strong backing of BIDC were able to provide basic amenities such as drinking water education and health care in Bhawanipur, Siraha village. When motivated youths gear up to participate, such projects take constructive shape. Your report is a proof of that ability of youths. Such reports have a very encouraging and motivating value for the youth and the general public. I think more of such reports should be published as the young people love and emulate what others have successfully done and are acknowledged and recognized by the public.

Seen with this perspective, your effort is also a valuable contribution to shaping attitudes in society. Your newspaper does and can play a very vital role in ushering in a change for the better in the almost-neglected villages of Nepal.
