Prove
yourself first
I am writing in response to the news item entitled
"UML to challenge PAC decision" published on May 27, TKP. In lieu of playing a
strong role in the Parliament so as to make the parliamentary democracy strong, the main
opposition CPN-UML has always been wild. It is not that easy to get public support only
from street vandalism. They also need to be responsible and most importantly, should, at
least, do justice to their own words. Sometimes, they publicly announce the name of
"the corrupt" . At other times, they publicly say that they are not corrupt. I
think this is lunacy.
They stalled and paralyzed the parliament for two months
and shamelessly took perks and allowances. All this they did because the Parliamentary
Public Accounts Committee (PAC) had implicated the Prime Minister in the Lauda air lease
scam. But, while the same parliamentary body points fingers at its tainted party member,
it publicly says that the PAC is wrong. But, before branding others wrong, they should
prove themselves right.
