Stress on wildlife conservation

KATHMANDU, Nov 2 - The first steering committee meeting on
Supplementary Agreement was held between the Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation
(MFSC) and WWF on Thursday.
The Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation (MFSC) and WWF
have reviewed their common efforts on conservation to discover that Nepals
conservation history evolved from species and habitat protection to sustainable community
development and landscape approach.
Nepal has earned international fame for its efforts to
restore wildlife conservation and bio- diversity in the past few decades, stated a press
release issued here today from WWF.
Chandi Prasad Shrestha, Secretary of MFSC expressed that his
ministry would fully coordinate with all the programmes and facilitate for better
implementation.
The agreement is significant at national level. This also
means that there will be a long -term co-ordination between His Majestys Government
and WWF Nepal Programme, he added.
