Keep your house in order
It seems that India is not happy to see its rival Pakistan as
a major coalition partner of the US to fight terrorism. It is surprising to see Indias
unconditional support even before it was asked for help. Whereas Pakistan was requested by
the US and its allies. It is not surprising to know that the intention of India is to
score political points. But unfortunately, US has shrugged off such intentions. How could
America leave the Cold War partner and support India when India supported Russias
presence in Afghanistan and accused US policy for the last fifty years? Pakistan was and
is a very close ally of the US. As the saying goes, "Old wood to burn, old wine to
drink and old friend to trust".
Now India seems busy sending their diplomats to the US and
Europe seeking their support to misbalance the international support for Pakistan but
gaining nothing. Thus it is the right time for India to see the reality, and give what
people of Kashmir want, not what India or Pakistan wants. India must also know that
imbalance in SAARC nations will not spare India to live in peace either. So, instead of
accusing neighbouring countries, it would be wise if India checks its own fundamentalists
who terrorize Christian and Muslim minorities, which was even reported by the former US
secretary of State. This might be the reason India is not gaining support from the West,
and could be isolated in future unless India does not change its colour. Therefore before
India points out its finger to its neighbouring nations for harbouring terrorists it
should first map out its new foreign policy in South Asia, and keep its house in order.
