129 more polling booths in Morang

MORANG, Aug 31(PR) - The district polling office has recommended the Election Commission to add 129 more election booths in this Terai district with seven parliamentary Constituencies. The number of polling booths will climb up to 357 from the existing 228 ones.

The recommendation was made by an all party meeting chaired by Chief District Officer, Dolakh Bahadur Gurung on Thursday. The total population of the voters in the district is about half a million heads.

The all party meeting decided to arrange one polling booth for a population of 2,000 voters in the plain area and one polling booth in every four kilometres in the hill areas. There are eight hilly VDCs in the district. Returning-officer Prem Prasad Sanjel said that the Election Commission will decide on the recommendations submitted by the all party meeting.
