District FAs not dissolved: NSC

KATHMANDU, Sept 5 (PR) - The National Sports Council (NSC)— apex sports body of the country— in a bid to clear its stance, rejected the news report saying that the district football associations under Geeta Rana led All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) were dissolved.

The member-secretary of the NSC, Binod Shanker Palikhe told The Kathmandu Post that a letter was sent to ANFA asking them to follow the procedure of affiliating the district football association under the respective district sports development committees.

"We haven’t dissolved the district football associations, we have only informed ANFA to follow the procedures while forming the district level associations," said Palikhe.

Geeta Rana, president of the NSC affiliated ANFA, also confirmed receiving the letter from NSC, which demands the ‘approval’ of the district football associations by the respective district sports development committees.

"However, we had formed these associations only after getting the formal approval from the NSC," says Rana.
