LALITPUR, Sept 7 - The 2nd
Little Angels Short Course Inter-school swimming championship 2001 got underway at the
schools swimming complex here on Friday.
The three-day swimming
championship is being participated by 196 swimmers of 30 schools from the valley.
In the 15-17 age-group
boys 100m breaststroke event, Alice Shrestha of Baba School, who has been selected
for the 9th South Asian Federation Games touched the wall in 1:12.36sec to win the race.
Aslam Alam of The British School managed to finish second clocking 1:20.81sec, while
Pankaj Gauchan of Nagarjun International School was third with the timing of 1:26.24sec.
Shrestha also clinched the
medals in 100m backstroke and 50m freestyle with the timing of 1:19.53sec and 28.89sec
respectively.
