Depot face Laboratory in title
clash

LALITPUR, Sept 27 - Depot A set up
the title clash with Laboratory A following their convincing 7-1 win over
fellow counterparts Depot B in the ANFA Cup Inter-academy Under-14 football
semifinal on Thursday.
In the second semi-final Laboratory
A edged past Gyanodaya A ,4-3 in the penalty shoot-out.The final
is to be held on Friday at the Jawalakhel football ground.
Uttam Gurung scored the decider in the penalty
shoot-out as both teams failed to break the 1-1 deadlock in the regulation (60 minutes)
and additional (10 minutes) time. Gurung buried a right footer in the right corner of the
net as Gyanodayas keeper Paras Thapa desperately attempted a full length dive to his
left without connecting the ball.
Earlier, Laboratorys Anil Karki opened the
scoring in the 41st minute. Karki, received the pass off the matchs hero Gurung,
just eased the ball towards its destination .
However, the lead didnt last long as Yubik
Shrestha of Gyanodaya found the net in the following minute to level the score at 1-1.
Gyanendra Ale, the culprit in the penalty shoot-out ,was the creator of the goal as he
sent a right to Shrestha.
Both the teams got several chances but failed to
come up with goal.
Although goalie Thapa prevented
Laboratorys Subah Gurungs spot-kick, the failure of Gyanendra Ale and Dipendra
Shrestha sealed the fate of Gyanodaya.
In the all Depot semi-final, the A
team posted a huge 7-1 win, with a hat-trick from striker Shishir Adhikari. Adhikari
finished his hat-trick in the final minute of the game. Earlier, he had scored in the 18th
and 55th minute.
Besides Adhikari, Muskan Shrestha contributed
twice ,in the 9th and 43rd minute, along with Bikash Chettri, who netted in the 32nd and
49th minute. Krishna Sharma of B team scored the consolation goal in the 22nd
minute.
