Rimal bags 3rd gold

KATHMANDU, Aug 10:Bivida Rimal of Learning Realm International (LRI) School clinched her third gold by winning 50m breaststroke of girls’ U-17 in the Puspalal Memorial Inter-school Championship on Saturday.

Rimal had bagged two gold medals in 50m butterfly and 50m backstroke events on the opening day. She clocked 43.75sec to take the lead over Baba Boarding School’s Stuti Singh who finished the race in 52.75sec. Likewise, Rajiv Chitrakar clocked 37.87sec to claim the 14-year boys’ 50-meter butterfly gold. Anil Shrestha of Ideal School pushed Chitrakar to second in the 50-meter breaststroke event. Shrestha timed 40.73sec while Chitrakar finished the race in 40.75sec.

The tournament is being organised by Democratic National Youth Federation, Nepal.

Other Winners: Sudha Shrestha (Baba Boarding School): U-14 girls’ 50m butterfly and breaststroke, Kamal Pun (LRI): U-17 boys’ 50m breaststroke.
