Crown Prince honours
contributors in sports

LALITPUR, Dec 13:Crown Prince Paras Bir Bikram
Shah Dev presented letters of felicitation to various persons for their remarkable
contribution to the countrys sports sector at a special function organised by Nepal
Amateur Veteran Athletes Committee (NAVAC) on Friday.
Gen. Nara Shamsher Rana, 94, who is known as the
father of sports in Nepal, was presented with a letter of felicitation while 52 other
persons including Hora Prasad Joshi, Kedar Shrestha, Dr. Trailokya Nath Upreti, Fr.
Watrin, Baikuntha Manandhar and Min Bahadur Bista were presented with letter of citation.
The Crown Prince also presented a coat to
renowned marathon runner Baikuntha Manandhar.
Addressing the function, Ram Krishna Verma, the
president of NAVAC, assured that the committee would carry on such activities to encourage
former players and officials alike.
Also present on the occasion were chairman of
the Raj Parishad Standing Committee Dr. Keshar Jung Rayamajhi and Minister for Education
and Sports Devi Prasad Ojha.
